Have you ever thought of something different while visiting Yogyakarta? Some places beyond beaches, temples, or hills? Studio Alam Gamplong can be your alternate destination that offers interesting experience. This open-air set will bring you closer to the enchanting part of Indonesia’s movie industry, allowing you to step into the scenes that were brought to life by a popular filmmaker, Hanung Bramantyo.
Yogyakarta’s Mini Hollywood
Studio Alam Gamplong was used as
a film set for Hanung Bramantyo’s movies, including Bumi Manusia, Sultan Agung,
Trinil, and more others. The area has been preserved well and opened to the
public. Visitor can walk around to enjoy the replicas of period-style buildings
and feel the sensation of travelling back in time.
Almost every spot of Studio Alam
Gamplong is a perfect backdrop for creating Instagram-able photos—from rustic
houses to colonial façade, that embody what it looks like an old-town
atmosphere.
The visitors can also enjoy a view
of a city tram roaming around its railroad, which adds another vintage atmosphere
to the area. The tram becomes one of interesting attractions and a favorite
spot to take picture. Surrounded by classic-style buildings, the tram brings a special
feeling of stepping into a time machine and imagining the vibe of an old-town
city scene.
